Isn’t man an amazing animal? He kills wildlife by the millions in order to protect his domestic animals and their feed… Then he kills domestic animals by the billions and eats them. This in turn kills man by the millions… because eating all those animals leads to degenerative –and fatal- health conditions like heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer… So then man tortures and kills millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases.
~C. David Coates
(aaaand don't forget that animal-tested medicine can lead to fatal conditions itself.)
You know... this quote really made me think.
Why this stamp?
I made this stamp because I've been getting a lot of notes from people who start losing (or have already lost) faith in their own species because of society playing dumb and blind as an excuse to enslave and kill our fellow earthlings. While I totally understand the reason behind becoming misanthropic, I made this stamp to tell those people one thing: not ALL people are like the destructive ones exposed in this stamp. If we all were like that, then why would I, as a human, make this stamp in the first place? A stamp that admits the ugly side of my species and criticizes the very same illusion I used to live in myself? Because not all people actually close their eyes to the ugly side of their species as an excuse to enslave, rape, kill and torture our fellow earthlings.
So for those who think that all humans are speciesists and that the whole human race is to blame, I think you're wrong. I noticed that many people who sent me those notes think that they're the only one who see the light and that I'm one of those "rare" people who has seen it too. But it's not true. There are more of us than you might expect and the number is rising every day. Every day there are people who decide to stop playing ignorant, stop looking for excuses for this destruction, stop pretending that humanity needs all this luxury for survival and last but not least... stop pretending that speciesism is any better than racism or sexism. I am one of those people. Some of my friends also are. And believe it or not, even the number of people going cruelty-free is rising every day. In my country 1/15 people are even vegans or vegetarians.
Not all humans are bad. Not all humans support (legal-)animal-cruelty.
If you hate humans, then please don't hate all humans. Hate people instead. Or better; don't hate, but spread the word instead, because some of the destructive people don't even know. Like I said, not everyone of the human race is to blame for mass-destruction and Holocaust actions towards animals. Not everyone lives in a denial.
I used to be ignorant
I never wanted to believe all this stuff said in the stamp because this selfish lifestyle was convenient for me. Just like a lot of other people, I didn't want to see anything that could be a threat to my fantasy-world beliefs I've been forced into by society. I was afraid to see something that would stab my conscience and was like "As long as I don't see it, I'm not guilty" which is of course an amazingly selfish thought, I admit. I was hiding behind all sort of excuses as an excuse to avoid seeing what's exactly is happening "backstage" etc. But when I finally had the guts to look at the other side, to show empathy towards the other side of the story, I realized that I was just highly hypocritical and I changed my ways.
I've been raised to believe that we humans are soooo intelligent, good and awesome... but.... human habits like the ones in the stamp sound more like ignorant, self- righteous, and selfish if you ask me. I would even call it devlish when I look at the damage we cause to the planet and our fellow earthlings. When I watched stuff like this [link] I couldn't bring up a single argument against it. All that came from my mouth were excuses and lies to justify this violent side of humanity. While it simply couldn't be justified at all. It wasn't this speech that changed my ways, but my own research. Just because we can't avoid all types of cruelty doesn't mean that we shouldn't even try to. [link] After all, humans are out of balance and way too overpopulated to keep up the habits we have now.
When I look back at myself in the past, I feel stupid and selfish. I seriously don't get anymore why animal-killers always try to praise humanity into heaven and describe us like "sparkly-speshul-perfect-intelligent-gods" or whatever. (which is another reason why I think Anti-wolfaboos are more insane, rabid and ignorant than wolfaboos) I also don't understand why they bash vegans and vegetarians, since it's pretty much the cleanest and harmless lifestyle there is. We're always talking about those "vegan bitches" forcing their "opinion" down our throat. But you know... just... [link] Why are we always complaining about vegans punching around our conscience, while we think that when we bash their lifestyle with lies and excuses is perfectly fine?
If you don't like it when people force their opinion onto you, then don't force yours upon the animals.
In the end... it's not natural. [link]
Can society get any lower if people are being insulted for defending animals? ~DevilKue
